A Message from Ms. Schreider and Ms. Petinarelis

Today, our students participated in our annual dance-a thon.  This year’s theme was “Tropical Pool Party”. The students had so much fun dressing up and dancing away!  Thank you to our School Council for organizing this awesome event!

In collaboration with Public Health, we have been engaging student leaders in Grades 5-8 in our PLAY (Peer Leadership for Active Youth) Program. The student leaders work as "PLAY Champions" to lead fun, inclusive games for students in Kindergarten to Grade 3 at recess time while promoting physical activity, positive mental health, and social skills such as conflict resolution and bullying prevention.

Class Placement Input 2026-27

Families of children entering Grades 1 to 8 have received an email inviting you to provide input into your child’s class placement for the 2026-27 school year.  We welcome your ideas and will take them into consideration during our placement meetings.  Please remember we do not take requests for specific teachers.  Thank you for partnering with us!

New Online Hub Supports Students’ Transitions

Students experience transitions throughout their school day and their school years. Supporting these transitions is a shared effort. YRDSB has launched a new Transition Hub with resources to support all students and their families during times of change. It includes tips for all families with specific information and strategies to support students with special education needs.

You will find helpful information, clear steps and strategies to support transitions. You can explore tips and resources by grade level or by different categories such as advocacy, daily transitions and transitioning to a new school. The content can also be translated using the built-in web translation tool. We invite you to explore the new Transitions Hub for tips to support your child.
