A Message from Ms. Schreider and Ms. Petinarelis

It was a pleasure seeing our families and students connect with the teachers and community members at our community welcome night this past Thursday.  Should you have any questions about your child's learning, please do not hesitate to contact us.

As we move along into the year, your children may share with you feelings of worry or doubt as part of their school experience.  One core skill we aim to teach children is how to manage when times get tough.  We work to support children so that they learn problem solving strategies for managing challenges as well as the skills needed to manage when things don’t go their way.  Building resiliency is an important life skill we all need to develop. Please read York Region Public Health’s Building Healthy Kids for more information on resiliency.

Our board has also developed a number of resources to promote and support student mental health. There are also many community resources available to support students and families with issues surrounding mental health and addictions, including resources for students and parents/guardians.   For more information please see: https://www2.yrdsb.ca/student-support/mental-health/mental-health-resources .

Please know we are always here to support.

Sincerely,

Heather Schreider        Georgia Petinarelis

Principal                        Vice-Principal

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month

October is Cybersecurity awareness month. Each week in October we will share a new safety tip.

If your child is using the primary account on their device, parental safeguards may be easier to bypass than you think. Check that they're set up under a family account with app
