A Message from Mrs. Schreider and Ms. Petinarelis
It has been a joy watching our school come alive over the past two weeks. From seeing familiar faces return to welcoming new families into our community, our hallways and classrooms are already filled with energy, curiosity, and bright smiles.
We firmly believe that a strong partnership between home and school is key to every child’s success. We are deeply grateful for your support, patience, and encouragement as we launch this new academic year together.
Here are a few quick reminders as we continue to build our momentum:
- Communication: Please check your email and our school portal regularly for upcoming events, classroom updates, and announcements.
- Routines: Consistent morning and dismissal routines help our students feel secure and ready for a successful day. Thank you for helping keep drop-off and pick-up running smoothly.
- Get Involved: Keep an eye out for upcoming opportunities to join our parent council, volunteer, or attend school events. We love seeing our families involved!
If you ever have questions, feedback, or need assistance, please never hesitate to reach out to our office team or your child’s teacher. We are all here to support you and your children every step of the way.
Thank you for sharing your wonderful children with us. We are looking forward to a fantastic, fulfilling year ahead!

GIVE (Get Involved Volunteer in Education)
GIVE is a free, five-session training program designed to welcome and support parents, newcomers and community members in becoming active volunteers within YRDSB schools.
Participants will gain the knowledge, skills and confidence to volunteer effectively and inclusively, while building connections, developing new skills and gaining valuable experience. GIVE also helps schools strengthen meaningful parent and community engagement, supporting student well-being, success and a strong sense of belonging. Please see more information on this flyer.
Accident Insurance
YRDSB does not provide individual student accident insurance coverage for student injuries that occur on school premises or during school-sponsored/extracurricular activities (athletics, clubs, field trips). We encourage families to verify that their child is covered under their insurance. If not, we recommend that you purchase student accident insurance. Student accident insurance provides coverage for injuries due to accidents not covered by government or private health plans (e.g. the cost of dental work). If your child is involved in an accident, whether at school or during non-school hours, insuremykids® protects your family from the resulting expenses. For more information, visit insuremykids.com or call 1-800-463-5437.
