2025 Terry Fox Run @ BHES - Monday, September 29
On Monday, September 29 (new date due to rain) students at Bayview Hill E.S. will participate in the annual Terry Fox School Run. It is a day of celebrating Terry’s legacy and helping to keep his dream of a cure for cancer alive.
Throughout the day, all the students will run or walk to support this important event. The event will take place on the back field of the school, and the distance of the run will vary according to the grade of the student.
Please join us and support this wonderful cause by donating to:

Thank you for your support of Terry Fox at BHES!
National Day for Truth and Recognition/Orange Shirt Day
September 30th is a day for Canadians to observe both Orange Shirt Day and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This day is a chance to learn about the history and lasting impact of residential schools, which were institutions created to assimilate Indigenous children, erase their cultures, and perpetrate the genocide of Indigenous Peoples. The day also honours the story of residential school survivor Phyllis Webstad, a member of the Stswecem'c Xgat'tem First Nation, survivor of the residential school system, and the founder of Orange Shirt Day. Her new orange shirt was taken away on her first day at school.
**IMPORTANT** - Start Up Forms
Parents/guardians received an email from YRDSB Update with instructions to complete start-up forms. It is important that these forms are completed as soon as possible at the start of the school year as they contain information and permissions. Please note: You must complete a separate form for each child attending school. If you prefer to complete the forms on paper or have questions about the information in the forms, please contact the school office.
The forms can be found in the family dashboard at family.yrdsb.ca. Click on the arrow by your child’s name and select the start-up forms button. You can choose your language. Please follow these steps for each child. Forms will automatically populate with your child’s information through the Dashboard.
Learn how to create a Family Dashboard account if you do not have one.
The forms are also available online at https://startupforms.yrdsb.ca. You will need your child’s student number. Tips are available on the Board website. Translation is also available on the website.
